Marketing for Accountants | Google is getting personal

In my previous marketing for accountants’ posts I’ve mentioned that 8 out of 10 people will start looking for an accounting firm using the search engines. According to ComScore’s latest survey this has now increased to 8.9 people out of 10!

This is why Google’s announcement on 10th January 2012 is extremely important to your future success in getting new clients.

Google has announced they’re getting personal and if you want a high level of Web presence for your accountancy firm, you’ll soon have no alternative but to embrace Social Media Marketing, particularly Google+

We’ve already proved with our own website and those of our clients that by being active on Google+ increases our search engine rankings.

Google Plus will become essential for accountants

Here’s an extract from Google’s Blog announcing how they’re going to get much closer to you and I, and a lot more personal in the search results they deliver to us.

People and Pages, which help you find people profiles and Google+ pages related to a specific topic or area of interest, and enable you to follow them with just a few clicks. Because behind most every query is a community.
